Micro Blogging

Definition: A micro-blog is simply a smaller blog – short, focussed statements about a particular topic (sometimes in conversation with other micro-bloggers) or sometimes random statements about a particular topic (possibly your established area of expertise).  A good example of this scenario is Twitter.

The anatomy of Twitter:

• allows busy people to stay connected to their online community via mobile devices like cell phones
• can also be managed via a desktop computer
• useful to distribute status updates to multiple social network applications
• helpful for remote group discussions
