Camp Otterdale needed a website that would be both fun and engaging for youth and strong and reassuring for their parents.

A social media action strategy was developed from the beginning of this project allowing the site design to complement and encourage the social media interaction of its visitors.

Camp Otterdale is using their website and integrated content management platform to build a strong mailing list and e-newsletter strategy as well as an integrated blog and social media presence.

  • Create a series of posts and assign them all the same category
  • Go to Appearance/Menus and select the menu tab where you wish to place the archive page
  • Scroll down to the ‘Categories” sub-section, select the appropriate category for your archive
  • Click the “Add to Menu” button
  • Go to the bottom of your menu items and drag the category page placeholder to where you want it to appear in the menu
  • Save your menu
  • Go to Settings / Reading and adjust the blog page settings to suit your needs ie: how many posts, display full posts or partial content
  • Note: you can use the “more” tag within your posts to control where the summary text stops
