How to add / edit an image in a WordPress Gallery

Navigate to the page or post edit screen for the gallery in question
Click on the gallery placeholder image
Select the “edit gallery” icon in the upper left hand corner (beside the delete gallery icon)
either upload the image to the media library or select the appropriate image in the media library
Insert into Post
Delete the image from the post
Go to add media to re-insert the gallery
Go to gallery link
Click “show” beside image you wish to remove
Remove the old image from the gallery
Save your work

How to embed a Google Map in your WordPress page or post

Letting people know where you are is a key element of conducting business online.

The best way to do that is with an interactive Google map. By default WordPress does not like it when you try and embed iframe code but with a few tweaks it WILL accept the info and produce the desired display as long as you follow a few key steps:

Create a Google Map to your desired location
Save it to your Google Account / My Places
Click the Link icon to display your embed options
Either select the default link code from here or customize your options further by clicking the customize link.
Set your map size parameters
Set your desired zoom level
Navigate to the final field on this page, select all the code and copy it to your clipboard
Open your WordPress page or post where you wish to insert the map.
Go to the HTML tab
Paste the code where you wish to have the map show up.
Update your page.
Do not go back to the visual tab for this page/post or WordPress will truncate your code and you will lose your map.

Creating a post category archive page for themes which do not use WordPress’ new custom menus

Go to “Appearance / Menus”
Scroll down to categories and select the category you wish to create an archive page for. Click “Add to menu”
Expand the menu item by hovering over the page name and clicking the down arrow. Click the page link to preview the page.
Copy the page URL on the preview page
Go to “Pages / Add New”

A – Create a page title
B – Paste the archive page URL in the body of the page.
C – Select “Page Redirect” template
D – Click “Publish”
