- CAPTION:

Caption is used for two purposes:

1. Text that appears beneath your image if your style sheets are set up to place it there and

2. Alt text – the text that shows up when you mouse over an image on a website. It is a good idea to always fill this information in as visitors who are visually impaired rely on software which reads this text to them when they are viewing a page – if this text is either missing or incoherent then the experience will not be a very pleasant one for that visitor.

- DESCRIPTION:

Text entered here will show up on the site if called by the style sheets. Even if it isn’t called to the page it is helpful to enter content here as meta tags for the search engines to reference

- LINK URL:

In this field enter either nothing (None button), the url/web address of the site you would like your visitor to arrive at if they click on the image, the location of the image file on your server (File URL) this will open a new window which displays just the image or the address of the full post associated with the image (Post URL)

- ALIGNMENT:

Select where you want your image to sit in relation to your text. None places your image either before or after your text depending on where your cursor is. Left, Right and Center all justify your image accordingly with the text wrapped around the image appropriately.

- SIZE:

While it is always the best idea to size your image before uploading so as to avoid server load and visitor wait times, sometimes you just want to make the image a little smaller and you just don’t have the time. Select whichever option is appropriate. Note: the actual size of the image in pixels is stated in brackets beneath the Full Size radio button.
